How would you feel if your child completed high school without sufficient job skills or the opportunity to contribute back to their community?

Not having a meaningful job is difficult for individuals with special needs and puts additional stress on parents, guardians, and our public support systems.

It doesn’t have to be this way!

Everyone deserves to learn job skills that fit their abilities.

We’re all part of the same community and adults with special needs need to be included in the workforce.

After working with individuals with disabilities and their families for over 30 years, raising a child with special needs, and teaching strategies for success around the world, we found a way to provide jobs to improve the quality of the lives of individuals with special needs.

We’ve created Watch Us Farm, where adults with special needs can:
learn, gain valuable job skills, work, and build community.

Building a Future for
Adults with Special Needs

At Watch Us Farm, we know how inspiring it can be to see the impact of your generosity.  That’s why we’ve created many different ways for people and businesses to get involved.  We don’t just do farm work; we offer diverse skills training including trade work and textile development and we’re always looking for new job opportunities.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn new skills and be paid for their work. But we need your help to achieve our goals of providing more job opportunities, camps, community events, housing, and a greater impact.

Getting involved is easy, just start by filling out our quick questionnaire.  We’ll reach out to learn more about you and how you can help. We’d love to give you a tour of the Farm.

Every year more and more young high functioning adults with special needs leave the education system with nowhere to go.

Many are capable of doing jobs well but need constant supervision, a controlled environment, and someone around in case things go wrong.

There are almost no options for these individuals.

After high school, we often forget about them as they try to be successful, but often end up inactive in group homes, in hospitals, or the justice system.

This isn’t right. We’re going to change that.  But we can’t do it alone.

Our next steps for Watch Us Farm include:

Continuous job skills training

Doing meaningful work for local businesses on a regular basis

Growing organic produce and selling to the community

Raising heritage livestock and supplying food to our community

Developing camps for local kids

Hosting events on our farm

Doing community-based service projects

 Providing on-site housing

You can help us achieve our goals,
but you have to take the first step.

Will you help us?

To grow organic produce year-round so that we can become more self-sustainable, we need funds to raise our greenhouse.  The greenhouse was donated to us in December.  We and our volunteers disassembled it in March and brought the usable parts to Watch Us Farm.  The foundation has been prepped and we have contracted with a professional greenhouse builder to re-assemble the greenhouse.  We can't do it alone.

Here's where you can help - the sooner the greenhouse is up, the sooner jobs can be created for special needs adults who are ready to work and serve the community in which they live.  Will you donate toward our goal?

$50,000 will fund a full crew from Lunsford Greenhouse Construction in Missouri (they've been building greenhouses since 1958) for 4 weeks and help us purchase parts we could not salvage from the old greenhouse.  Please help us do this!
